Effective Rate: After Corporation Tax, you receive 11p per £1 spent.
Rate Increase: The rate increased from 12% to 13% in 2020, the third increase since the scheme’s introduction.

Claim Period: Claim costs from the start of your R&D project until it’s finished, paused, or discarded.
Submission: Enter your expenditure into the Company Tax Return form (CT600). For periods of 12 or more months, submit a separate claim for each accounting period.
Evidence: Provide supportive evidence, usually a summary explaining how your project meets the R&D definition, advances science and technology, overcomes uncertainty, and is not easily solved by professionals.
